Across the four middle-school years, English, mathematics and science follow the Cambridge curriculum, mapped against the Turkish (MEB) programme. In Grade 8, Cambridge Checkpoint tests are scheduled alongside the LGS calendar for MEB students.
Middle school brings the habits of inquiry from primary together with the discipline of subjects. English, mathematics and science follow the Cambridge Lower Secondary curriculum in English; MEB outcomes are mapped one by one in the lesson plans, so students learn a topic once and in depth rather than twice.
LGS and Checkpoint on one calendar
In Grade 8, students on the MEB track prepare for the LGS. Cambridge Checkpoint tests are scheduled so they do not clash with LGS practice exams, and the two results are read together in the same parent meeting.
Global Perspectives
In this two-hour weekly course, students research topics such as water, migration and energy, write opposing views and defend them in front of the class. It lays the ground for the Extended Essay and project work in high school.
