The Turkish national curriculum is the common line under every grade. On top of it: the IB PYP in primary, Cambridge Lower Secondary in middle school, Cambridge IGCSE and the IB Diploma Programme in high school.
Across the four primary years, the Turkish national (MEB) curriculum is taught within the IB's six transdisciplinary themes. Children begin with a question, investigate, and take what they learn beyond the classroom.
International Baccalaureate (IB) · The PYP is not a diploma programme; it culminates in the PYP Exhibition at the end of Grade 4.
Across the four middle-school years, English, mathematics and science follow the Cambridge curriculum, mapped against the Turkish (MEB) programme. In Grade 8, Cambridge Checkpoint tests are scheduled alongside the LGS calendar for MEB students.
Cambridge International Education · Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint statement of achievement (Grade 8)
In Grades 9 and 10, students take seven or eight IGCSE subjects alongside the MEB programme. Exams are sat in the May–June series of Grade 10; results are released in August.
Cambridge International Education · A separate Cambridge IGCSE certificate for each subject
In Grades 11 and 12 students choose one subject from each of six groups, three at Higher Level (HL) and three at Standard Level (SL). Theory of Knowledge (TOK), the Extended Essay (EE) and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) form the core.
International Baccalaureate (IB) · The IB Diploma; Turkish citizens also receive the MEB high school diploma
Meridyen is made up of a private primary school, middle school and Anatolian high school under the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MEB). Turkish students follow the MEB programme for twelve years; the international programmes are built on top of it.
